My mom’s health journey has been a rollercoaster over the years. She had undergone Holistic treatments with me in 2013 and improved many of her symptoms and lost weight. But once she resumed her regular diet and lost her healthy habits the symptoms started to worsen again.
IBS is an ongoing journey. It can be stable for a long time and suddenly impact your health for the rest of your life. I have learned to watch my diet closely and recognize foods that trigger my symptoms.
Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain and fatigue. Patients with the condition also have issues with sleep, memory, and mood. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia augments painful sensations by affecting the way the brain processes pain signals.
Stress and Anxiety impact your health by increasing free radical damage and stress on your cells. We don’t realize the damage as it is occurring daily, and the little symptoms as they arise. Stress impacts our bodies in a variety of ways. Some examples are libido, memory, indigestion, blemishes, headaches, weight gain, muscle pain, nails, hair loss, fatigue and back acne.
Thyroid nodules can be benign or cancerous. My nodules were discovered as an incidental finding. I actually had an MRI of the cervical spine for chronic pain of the neck and right shoulder. The MRI reading actually identified the nodules approximately 10 years ago. Since then I have had to see an endocrinologist multiple times a year to monitor the nodules. The nodules often grow and reach a size that requires biopsy. I have had multiple biopsies over the years.
I have suffered from chronic pain and understand this excruciating pain and the desire to find a quick fix. There is no quick fix, inflammation requires dedication to control and combat on a daily basis to maintain a pain-free state.
I began taking Magnesium in 2013 after it was recommended by a Homeopathic physician. I had been suffering from frequent muscle pain, constipation, migraines, electrolyte imbalance, and fainting. A blood test also showed a deficiency of magnesium and other electrolytes. He recommended Magnesium glycinate because it provides better absorption and less stomach irritation. Based on my history with IBS and reflux, this was the best choice for me.
Fighting fatigue used to be a constant battle for me. I woke up tired and spent the entire day yawning. There wasn’t a moment in the day where I felt energized and pumped to engage in activities. It was truly a significant issue when I worked the night shift. Not only did I experience fatigue but by the end of the shift, I was exhausted and sleepy.
My experience with birth control started very young. Not because of sexual activity but due to extreme menstrual pains and bleeding. My doctor placed me on them at age 15 to help with the menstrual cramps and symptoms of PMS. I continued to take the same Birth-Control called ortho tri cyclen until my late 20s to control my menstruation.
Migraines can be difficult to treat and pinpoint the cause. Aggravating factors like noise, light, smells and even food can be frustrating and overwhelming. I have suffered from migraines since childhood. The difference between then and now is my highly specialized diet. My allergies have forced me to identify foods that trigger pain, IBS and migraines over the years. I am lucky because my diet is so special and specific that I am able to identify migraine triggers easily.
